Virtual Box is a free download, so there's definite bang-for-the-buck if you have a 32 bit OS on hand to install as a guest OS. Being able to bring-up any of those OS's via a few mouse clicks is pretty handy for driver issues like this as well as when people call me with a specific question about an older OS. VBox has transformed me into a virtual machine 's almost borderline O.C. I now have XP pro 32, Vista 32 and Ubuntu 64 installed as guest OS's in Virtual Box. I've also set-up shared folders between my host OS (win7 64 bit) and the guest OS's.
Works like a charm, and you can also use any program with twain drivers, like Photoshop.
